A first-time Texas driver license applicant who is 18 through 24 generally must complete a six-hour adult driver education course. Texas law provides an exception for a person who already holds a valid driver license issued by another state, and DPS says new residents surrendering a valid, unexpired out-of-state license are exempt from the six-hour course. A teen generally starts driver education before obtaining the learner license. At age 15, the student can apply for the learner license after meeting the classroom requirement for the selected method. Schertz Drivers

Schertz is partly associated with the Bexar County regional transportation network and connects closely with the northeast San Antonio area. Drivers should be comfortable transitioning between local streets and larger regional routes.
