Primary Local Driving Topic: The Freer Highway Junction
Freer's defining driver-education issue is the transition between three significant state routes.
A student who is comfortable driving around town may still need practice reading highway signs and positioning the vehicle correctly when several routes converge. Before making a turn or continuing through the junction, drivers should identify their destination, confirm the route designation and check mirrors and blind spots.
This is also a useful place to practice defensive spacing. A driver should leave enough room to respond when another vehicle changes lanes unexpectedly.
