Teen Applicants

The block method begins with completion of the 24-hour classroom phase. After the student meets the learner license requirements and receives the learner license, the student continues with the required in-car education and supervised driving.

For the provisional license, DPS requires the learner license to have been held for at least six months and the student to be at least 16. The student must also complete 7 hours of observation, 7 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, 30 supervised driving hours including 10 at night, ITTD, and the driving test.
