U.S. Census Bureau, Houston and Harris County population data
Houston verification: Census estimates Houston's 2025 population at 2,397,315 and Harris County's at 5,045,026. (Census.gov) Houston's official transportation plan distinguishes local streets, collectors, major thoroughfares, and principal thoroughfares, while TxDOT documents the active I-45, I-10, I-69, and SH 288 projects. (City of Houston) Houston TranStar provides current roadway conditions and flood warnings. (Houston TranStar)
A note on the statewide requirements used across all five pages
The most important current-rule discrepancy is between commercial teen block-method education and PTDE block-method education. DPS currently describes the commercial teen block method as 24 classroom hours, while TDLR's current PTDE guide describes the PTDE block method as 32 classroom hours. I kept those pathways separate rather than presenting 24 or 32 hours as one universal Texas requirement. (Texas Department of Public Safety)
DPS also confirms the 18 through 24 adult-course requirement, the lack of a mandatory driver education requirement at 25+, the teen six-month learner-license period, the 30-hour supervised-driving requirement with 10 nighttime hours, and the separate ITTD/ITAD requirements. For the next batch, I can keep the same statewide legal framework while making the local research and primary driving angle distinct for each city.
