Moving From Local Streets to I-69 and Regional Highways
One of the most useful skills for a new Humble driver is learning how to transition from ordinary city streets to a major highway.
The change is not just about speed. Drivers must read entrance ramps, choose lanes early, maintain space around larger vehicles, monitor signs, and prepare for exits before reaching them.
Practice should build gradually. A student can first become comfortable with local streets, then work on multilane roads, and eventually practice highway merging with a qualified adult or professional instructor as applicable.
