Kirby, Texas Online Driver's Ed

After the classroom phase and learner license, the student must complete the applicable behind-the-wheel instruction, observation and supervised practice.

Applicants ages 18 through 24 applying for a first Texas license generally must complete the six-hour adult driver education course, subject to statutory exceptions.

Teen Applicants

The Texas teen process uses the Graduated Driver License system.

Adult Applicants

Adults should determine whether the six-hour course applies based on age and licensing history.

The DPS application then involves the required documentation, vision screening, knowledge examination when applicable and driving skills test when applicable.
