Primary Local Driving Topic: SH 34 and Rural Highway Transitions
A Ladonia student should spend part of supervised practice learning how to enter and leave SH 34 safely.
The important skills include checking traffic before turning, choosing an appropriate gap, maintaining a consistent speed, watching for vehicles entering from side roads, and recognizing that rural highway traffic may be moving much faster than traffic on town streets.
The goal is not simply to memorize SH 34. It is to understand the change in driving environment when a local trip becomes a regional trip.
