Primary Local Driving Topic: Rural Highway and Small-Town Transitions
A Round Top student needs to learn how quickly the driving environment can change.
A short trip can move from a quiet local street to SH 237 or FM 1457. The driver then needs to adjust speed, increase following distance and anticipate intersections that may be less frequent than those found in a larger city.
Training should also include turning from a local road onto a higher-speed route and returning safely into town. These transitions are more useful to a Round Top student than spending all practice time on residential streets.
